Daniel Mason, DO

I'm an advanced abdominal imaging fellow at Washington University's Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis.

Patients: questions about your results go to the doctor who ordered the scan.

Portrait of Daniel Mason, DO

In short

My work has two aims: to keep deepening our understanding of abdominal disease, and to use technology to help radiologists become better, augmented radiologists.

For patients

Reading my report in your portal before your doctor calls? That's normal. Your doctor will explain what it means.

Will I meet you? Usually not. I read the scan your doctor ordered and write the report. I don't see patients in clinic or discuss results by email.

Your report may list me as "Daniel Mason, DO" or "Dr. Daniel Mason". DO means Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; DOs are fully licensed physicians. A fellowship is an extra year of specialist training after residency.

What a radiologist does: RadiologyInfo.org (ACR and RSNA)

For physicians and colleagues

Prostate MRI, liver and pancreas CT and MRI, MR enterography.

Informatics: imaging AI, dictation and reporting workflow. Before medical school, I QA-tested image-analysis software at a digital-pathology company.

Questions about abdominal imaging or imaging AI are welcome.
